Зачем нужен пост во время вышивания иконы?
- Для чего нужен пост? Несмотря на то, что пост всегда существовал в православной Церкви, многие тяготятся постом и считают его лишним, ненужным, а потому и не соблюдают его. Они говорят: “Зачем нужен пост?
- Не то оскверняет человека, что входит в него, а то, что из него выходит, т. е. дурные желания сердца; с ними то и надо бороться, а не изнурять свое тело постом”. Рассуждающие так напоминают больного, который хочет вылечиться и отказывается принимать лекарство. Но ведь болезнь сама не проходит, ее нужно лечить. Этот больной забывает, что лекарство именно для того и дается ему, чтобы он выздоровел. Так же и пост – он имеет значение не сам по себе, а только как средство к приобретению душевного здоровья.
- Какое же значение имеет пост для здоровья души? Пост есть внешнее выражение душевной скорби и сокрушения о грехах. Как известно, пост, прежде всего выражается переходом с более питательной мясной пищи на менее питательную растительную: этот переход с одного рода пищи на другую предписывается Церковью чтобы ослабить чувственность и дать перевес нашему духу над нашей плотью. Насколько большое влияние имеет пища на нашу духовную жизнь и работу, это легко можно увидеть по собственному опыту. Попробуйте после сытного обеда заняться серьезной умственной работой и вы увидите как это трудно! А молиться в это время – и того труднее! Говорят, что можно злоупотреблять и постной пищей. Это верно, и Церковь предписывает нам и в постной пище соблюдать воздержание и умеренность. Некоторые говорят, что постная пища вредна для здоровья. Это неверно. Для здоровых она не вредна. Кому же, по слабости здоровья, необходимо усиленное питание, тому и Церковь разрешает облегчение от поста. Пост нужен не для изнурения нашего тела, а лишь для ослабление нашей животной чувственности. А то, что пост нисколько не вреден для здоровья, это видно, во-первых из того, что постящиеся меньше болеют, чем непостящиеся, а во-вторых, из того, что они и живут не меньше. Многие великие постники доживали, как это видно из житий святых, до 80, 90, 100 и более лет. За время поста организм человека очищается. “Могут ли поститься сыны чертога брачного, когда с ними жених? Доколе с ними жених, не могут поститься, но придут дни, когда отнимется у них жених, и тогда будут поститься в те дни. (Мк.2, 19-20)”
Перемена пищи, предписываемая Церковью в пост, имеет еще и то значение, что дает нам возможность упражнять нашу волю в борьбе со своими желаниями и привычками и победу над ними. Переход со скромной пищи на постную нам неприятен. Но побеждая это неприятное чувство и подчиняя себя уставу Церкви, мы себя дисциплинируем, проявляем власть свою над своими привычками и вкусами, а это очень полезно.Это нас закаляет, делает мужественнее, выносливее, крепче, помогает нам становиться выше своих страстей и не быть их рабами. Но не стоит забывать о том, что пост состоит не только в том, чтобы воздерживаться от пищи, но и в том чтобы ограничивать себя в излишествах и прихотях, например, меньше спать, удерживаться от лакомств, от курения и спиртного, от всяких развлечений и т. п. Какой смысл нам ограничивать себя в еде, если мы остаемся такими же злыми, мстительными, раздражительными как и раньше; если мы продолжаем обманывать, сплетничать, осуждать и злословить во время поста? Мы должны духовно расти и особенно заботиться о подавлении и искоренении своих дурных наклонностей, привычек и желаний. По этому поводу св. Иоанн Златоуст говорил так: “Ты не можешь поститься? Но почему ты не можешь простить обиду твоему врагу? Перемени свой нрав: если ты зол, старайся быть кротким; если мстителен, не мсти; любишь злословить и сплетничать, воздержись и т. д. Делай в дни поста побольше добра, будь участливее к людям, охотнее помогай нуждающимся в твоей помощи, молись усерднее, теплее и т. п. Во всех этих направлениях пост открывает тебе широкое поле для работы над самим собою – только имей охоту трудиться!”
